My name is Tarik Hijstek, I'm a tech guy from the Netherlands, currently living in Linköping, Sweden.
Professional
Through my professional career I've been focusing on web development. First I started doing a Sys admin education, in class we were asked with making HTML pages. I remember having 'click' moment while doing an exercise with image maps. Using paint to select pixels, making a pixel perfect world map and making cute little descriptions for them. This single class made me want to drop the sysadmin course and swap to programming.
After my studies I starting working for Florinco, a company focussing on industrial horticultural sector, where I used my Web expertise to contribute to many projects. Working on projects that with a very wide technical scope, from backend and systems development to frontend and design.
Hobbies
Besides my professional work, I dabble in many things
Programming
Besides my professional tech carreer, I also enjoy working on my own personal projects.
Counterstrike
Where possible, I've joined the ESEA league, to test my skills. At the time of writing I am ranked 883th in the Netherlands, as is shown on my Faceit profile. I would like to play more, but playing a season is quite a commitment, sadly that means that I cannot play every season.
Photography
When I'm out and about, I love to take my camera along and shoot some photos. My main topic of intrest are wierd little framing that you find in cities.
My camera setup is a Canon EOS-2000D. A budget camera, but it is good enough for my skill level. Besides the lens that came with it (a 18-55mm, F/3.5 to F/5.6), I picked up a 44mm F/2.8 pancake lens on a trip to Brighton.

Running
I try to run every other day. My preffered distance is 5k. Big enough to be a significant effort, while also keeping the sessions short enough to fit within an hour. At the moment my goal for speed is to run a 5k in 25 minutes. Currently I'm around 26 minutes on a fast run, so still a ways to go.
